Classes

  •

    Our philosophy of education.

  •

A child observing, exploring, discovering on their own.

  •

An uninterrupted flow of thought, creativity and activity.

  •

A spark, followed by pure joy.

  •

    This is the Montessori moment.

The Montessori Classroom

The Montessori method is designed to allow the child to learn through his/her own initiative and curiosity within a disciplined and prepared and non-competitive environment. Dr. Montessori recognized that children go through a series of periods when they are more sensitive to certain areas of learning than to others. The Montessori materials are designed to take advantage of and build upon these “sensitive periods”. Children of all races, creeds, and national origins come together to learn and grow in a safe and accepting environment.

Class Size: Montessori classes are organized to encompass an age span, which allows younger students to experience the daily stimulation of older role models, who in turn learn the responsibilities of leadership.

Students not only learn with each other but also from each other. Our classrooms feature a mixed age group of 2 to 3 years of age and 4 to 6 years of age. Your child will be engaged in an authentic Montessori experience.

Teachers & Caregivers: We work very hard to attract and retain the best talent to take care of your children. Each staff member goes through careful screening – and is selected on the basis of overall competence with regard to education, skills, experience, and child rapport. All of our teachers are Association Montessori Internationale and California State certified. The Montessori House of Children was established in 1976 and we proudly dedicate ourselves to the education of your child.
